Carrie Umland
The Marathon Champion of Justice
Carrie Umland is a powerhouse attorney at Palace Law, where she’s been championing the rights of the injured for three decades. With her roots firmly planted in the Pacific Northwest, Carrie’s legal journey is as dynamic as the landscapes she calls home.
Background and Practice
Carrie’s legal adventure began at Central Washington University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts. She then honed her legal acumen at Seattle University School of Law, graduating with her Juris Doctor degree. Prior to and during law school, Carrie cut her teeth as a case manager and negotiator for a small personal injury firm, gaining invaluable experience on the front lines of legal battles. She even spent time as a claims representative for State Farm Insurance, where she got an insider’s view of the insurance world.
The Pivot to Trusted Ally
Carrie’s career started in insurance defense, but it didn’t take long for her to realize her true calling—standing up for the little guy. She shifted her focus to representing injured individuals against the Goliaths of the insurance industry, large corporations, and government entities. And let’s be clear: when Carrie takes on a case, she’s all in. Her reputation as a fierce yet fair advocate for the injured has only grown, earning her a place among the legal elite. She’s a proud member of the Washington State Bar Association and an Eagle Member (an exclusive group of trial lawyers) of the Washington State Association for justice.
Beyond the Courtroom
Carrie isn’t just about legal battles—she’s also a force of nature in the world of sports. A former avid runner, cyclist, and swimmer, she’s completed marathons in Arizona, Scotland, and even Greece, where she ran the 2500th anniversary of the original Athens Marathon! Apart from 2019, she has completed the Seattle Half Marathon every year since 2005. When she’s not hitting the pavement or the courtroom, Carrie gives back to her community.
She is always warmed up for a David-versus-Goliath battle to fight for real people like you!
